Information For Librarians

The European Journal of Taxonomy (ISSN: 2118-9773) is funded and published by a consortium of European natural history institutions, and is fully Open Access. Consequently, authors do not have to pay any fees to publish and readers do not have to pay to access the content of the journal.
The "legal" publisher is the Muséum national d'Histoire Naturelle (Paris), as registrant of the ISSN.
All papers published in EJT are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License (CC-BY) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of its authorship and initial publication in this journal. Provided that they conform to the CC-BY License, librarians are welcome to disseminate the content of the journal by several means:
- inform researchers of their institution that they can access the content (link to our website)
- include the journal in the library database/catalogue (for metadata harvesting, see below)
- include the journal in the library’s physical collections, by printing the pdf files (see below)
- if the library is participating in LOCKSS, archive the electronic content

Publication frequency and issue alerts
Each paper is published as an individual issue, and is available when the corresponding author has approved the edited version.
Librarians and readers can can follow our Twitter account @ejtaxonomy to get the latest articles, or subscribe to the RSS feeds (RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and Atom 1.0) to receive notifications when a new issue is published.

Format
At the moment, all papers published in European Journal of Taxonomy are available under two formats, pdf and pdf/A. In the future, we aim to publish each paper in two further formats, html and xml.

Metadata harvesting
EJT uses Open Journal Systems for archiving, which provides metadata harvesting through the OAI-PMH protocol.
The base url of the repository is

Printed versions
Librarians are invited to include EJT’s content in their physical collections by downloading the pdf files and printing a paper version of each issue. If possible, print in colour when the pdf file contains figures in colour.
