GIANT STICK INSECT, DESCRIBED IN EJT, IN ESF TOP 10 NEW SPECIES FOR 2015

Phryganistria tamdaoensis, one of the giant stick insects described by Joachim Bresseel and Jérôme Constant in no. 104 of the European Journal of Taxonomy, is in the Top 10 New Species for 2015 of College of Environmental Sciences and Forestry (ESF). The committee of ESF's International Institute for Species Exploration (IISE) selected this impressive species, 23 cm for the longest specimen, discovered in Tam Dao National Park in Vietnam. Living specimens can be observed in the vivarium of the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences in Brussels.
