A new leafhopper genus with description of two new species of Scaphoideini (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from India
Abstract
A new genus of Scaphoideini, Ramya Rajgopal gen. nov., with two new species, Ramya longiprocessus gen. et sp. nov. (as its type species, type locality: India: Karnataka) and Ramya megatrium gen. et sp. nov. (type locality: India: Himachal Pradesh), are described and illustrated. The relationship of the new genus with other related genera is discussed and an identification key to the two species is provided. The type material is deposited in the National Pusa Collection (NPC), ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
