A mountain of millipedes XIII: New species and records of Eviulisoma Silvestri, 1910 from the Udzungwa Mountains, Tanzania, and notes on gnathochilarial trichomes (Diplopoda, Polydesmida, Paradoxosomatidae)

Keywords: taxonomy, new species, Eastern Arc Mountains, trichomes

Abstract

Three new species of Eviulisoma from the Udzungwa Mountains, Tanzania, are described, viz., E. zmuci Enghoff sp. nov., E. intricatum Enghoff sp. nov. and E. brachyaspis Enghoff sp. nov. New material of seven previously described species from the Udzungwa Mountains is described. The trichomes on the male gnathochilarium of the studied species are described, and trichome morphology from a further three species of Eviulisoma, as well as from the related Suohelisoma ulugurense Hoffman, 1964, is described.
